Glass Half Full; Half Empty!

Whatever happens do not believe or buy into the fallacy that says: Just because you happen to say something is half empty, it means you’re a negative person; equally, just because you say something is half full, that it means you’re a positive person!

It is all completely contextual! For example; today while speaking to a colleague I said: ‘Have you seen the car park, it’s half empty!’ Does that mean I’m a negative person by nature? Hell no! I was speaking because I was excited! It meant that there was plenty of room to park and that I didn’t have to look for a space as I sometimes do!

Remember you can say ‘half empty’ and still be the most positive person around. Likewise, you can say ‘half full’ and be the most negative person around. Remember also that negative and postive are also totally contextual. Once situation can be negative to one person and positive to the another. Ultimately the observer decides!

I’ve always believed that negativity is something you exude and yes, it should not be based on how you choose your words.

in other words, you can be positive on some things while preferring not to talk about it. great post!

    Hi Carol,

Thanks for the comments. I agree whole heartedly that it’s more something you exude rather then just your choice of words.

I like to think of people that only see one side of the situation are only seeing things from an unbalanced perspective. When the balance is redressed you can then move on and above the situation.

    Thanks again!
