9 Years – And I’m Not Going Anywhere
Last Friday marked the 9th birthday of this blog, Unlimited Choice, which I began on the 12th of December 2005.
It is one of the longest running personal development blogs in the world and is the number 1 personal development blog in London.
The year is coming to a close and I just wanted to acknowledge and say thank you for being a part of this journey with me.
To every one who’s left me a comment, sent me a question, contributed an article or even just been a silent reader, I would like to say thank you.
I thought long and hard about where I’ve come from, the challenges I’ve faced along the way; and even most recently the hosting issues which cost me dearly.
At one point a few weeks ago I almost totally gave up. The blog suffered two major outages and as a result, all the hard word I’d put into building up the blog over the past 3 months, was literally bulldozed overnight.
It was extremely tough to deal with; in fact it was heartbreaking. When you put your heart and soul into something, and in a flash it’s destroyed, it can feel devastating. I’ve put so much work into this blog over the last 9 years, It really felt something was taken away from me, like I’d lost an arm or a leg.
It may sound silly, but it was a big eye opener. It made me realise just how important this work is to me.
However, after a lot of thought, I’ve decided, I’m not giving up and I’m not going anywhere!
I am not going anywhere, not now, and not for a very, very long time. I love blogging, I love writing and I’ve only just scratched the surface.
For me, this is still just the beginning. I’m may sound odd, but I actually like the fact that I’ve only got so far, because that just means that there is so much further I can go.
I’m going to continue and if you’re on a similar journey, I urge you to stride forward, and no matter what setbacks you face. If something is important to you, then don’t let a knock-back keep you down. Get back up and keep going as that is how life works.
It’s not the setbacks that matter, it’s what you choose to do afterwards that counts.
Stay you, stay true!
Here’s to another years of blogging, and beyond.
All the best in years ahead.
