100 Days of Vision…Day 41

Flexibility

In times of change, it is the learners who will inherit the earth, while the learned will find themselves beautifully equipped for a world that no longer exists.

– Al Rogers

I love the above quote and I only just remembered to include it while writing this post. This post was sparked by the news today of the collapse of the giant US investment bank Lehman Brothers. Even though the media will always put the most disastrous spin on any event, todays news does give an insight of how things are in terms of the global economy.

No matter what happens, those who are flexible will be the ones who will be able to excel, nomatter what conditions transpire whether that be due to the economy or any other event that causes a global shift. Find a way of embracing change learn to nurture with yourself the key skill of flexibility. If your first reaction is one of fear or doubt change it by instead asking yourself: “How can I make the event at hand work for me?

    No fear, no doubt, surely.

Apart from learning newer things, what else would the term flexibility include?

Flexibility towards self improvement, and improvement of your work? And not accepting models of change that deter the purity of your work?

Well one example that I can give you is learning to utilise your skills in a different way. You might be used to say training people but doing so has giving you valuable skills in public speaking so you could then take your skills and transfer them to doing something different if the need arose.

    Does that make sense?

    Hello Amit!

It’s good to see posts about current events. Its a real shame with what’s going on in the global economy. One thing to remember is trials will bring the best out of people. We will see the worst but also the best come out.

Take care and thanks for the post!
