After seeing the seeing the documentary, Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead – my lovely fiance and I decided to immerse ourselves in a ‘Juice Reboot’. It was an eye-opening experiment and I want to share my juice fast results with you.

I saw the incredible juice fast results Joe achieved and thought why not give it a shot. I had absolutely nothing to lose (except my bulging love handles) and everything to gain (except my new hunky bod)!

Over the years I’ve found it somewhat a challenge dealing with things like sugar cravings, comfort eating, and other habits. However, I was absolutely relishing the challenge!

My Journey

My journey back to health began back in 2005 when my weight was out of control. I had reached a colossal 300lbs. That’s around 21.5stone or 136KG. I was 28 years old but I felt more like 70, and my body was giving out on me.

I’m not a million miles from that but, I’m rather happy to say there’s more muscle now and I’m in much better shape than I was back then.

Although completely far from perfect, I’ve made some adjustments to my diet which have stuck. Things like lowering my sugar intake and completely avoiding sugary beverages. I eat relatively healthy food but there were some aspects I still wanted to focus on, like portion control.


Fasting is a massive part of culture in the East. In the West however, it’s still new and more research is being conducted to demonstrate exactly how powerful it can be.

I’ve discussed in the past that I love the idea and concept of fasting, especially intermittent fasting, but I had never fasted for such and extended time frame.

When you tell people that you’re going to fast for a long period, usually the first reaction is, “is that good for you?” It goes without say that you should do any health checks to make sure you don’t do yourself harm. I was checked and I was ready!

When I told people my plan, some were pleased but a large number were a little shocked. It’s because people misinterpret the meaning of a ‘Juice Fast’. It conjures various misinterpretations in people’s minds. the bottom line is juicing, or blending, is about fresh and raw ingredients to make something power-packed beverage that nourishes the body.

Loading the body with an abundance of good stuff it the ideal way to recharge, reboot and recover from the years of abuse inflicted upon it. Just to be clear, you won’t feel a difference overnight. You will gradually begin to feel the benefits and notice the benefits after about a week or so. The first few days can be challenging. You might experience headaches, dizziness, and lethargy. These are the signs that it is working.

My Juice Fast Results

In the documentary, Joe managed 60 days. I was aiming for at least 10. Ultimately, I managed 7 days and continued juicing after that adding in a daily meal. The biggest thing for me is that it has reshaped my habits.

Over the course of the first 7 days, in total I lost an incredible 14 lbs or 1 stone. Over the next 3 weeks I managed to continue juicing frequently whilst eating a smaller amounts and managed to lose around 9kg overall. During that time I did a further fast for another two days.

I was thrilled with the results. To cap it off, not only was I lighter on my feet, I was feeling so much healthier.

I won’t lie, it was tough! Even just 7 days was difficult, and it has given me a great level of admiration for those who manage to go on and fast for much longer. I don’t have any regrets and I really enjoyed the whole process. It was fun, challenging, and overall I feel proud to have gotten that far.

I’m going to continue juicing as often as possible and reduce my overall calorie intake. Especially those from nasty treats disguised as divine delights!
