How To Meditate Daily Anytime Anywhere

One of the things I look forward to every day is my meditation time. I try to meditate daily at any possible opportunity. For example, while I’m waiting for a train; sitting in a traffic; sitting at my desk; In the shower, etc.
Therein lies the problem for most people that would like to meditate. They think that they have to make special time to meditate and as a result cannot find the time to fit it in.
You can Meditate Daily anywhere!
The truth is, if you’re one of those people who really wants to meditate daily, but cannot find the time, the good news is you don’t have to. There are hundreds of opportunities to meditate daily if you understand how.
The big temptation for most people is too pull out their smartphone to text people, play games, and use that as a technique to pass the time.
I do that too, I often play Clash of Clans, or Candy Crush, but no matter what, I will always take the time to do some meditation.
Take a good look at your day. How often do you use the excuse that you don’t have the time? Now, take a good look at yourself and think about all the times you could choose to meditate if you wish?
Places where you can meditate
Do you commute? Are you frequently driving? Do you walk regularly?
All of those are instances where you can meditate. I particularly enjoy meditation while I’m walking or on the train.
No matter what kind of meditation you choose to do, you can do it at any of those idle moments. Whether it be to control your breathing, practice mindfulness, increase your focus, center yourself, for relaxation, connecting with the divine, or any other form, you can do them all at anytime.
I have a 15 minute walk to the train station in the mornings, and while I’m walking, I practice being mindful and centering myself. When I get onto the train, I connect with the infinite/supreme and raise my vibration.
Do I always have a great meditation? No. There are days when I don’t feel like meditating and when I simply can’t get into the right frame of mind. It’s rare for that to happen though as I find that any kind of meditation will give me a recharge and boost, and once, I begin, it becomes easy.
Whatever your reason for wanting to meditate, just start with 10-15 minutes daily. Build it into your daily routine in those few moments that you have free. Once you’ve built the habit and you’ve begun to love your meditation time, then you can start to build in more time to sit in meditation.
My caveat – perhaps leave any chanting meditation for when at home alone. I’m not sure how your fellow passengers will feel about you chanting ‘nam myoho renge kyo’ or ‘hare krishna’ on the Metropolitan line! 😆
Interesting perspective on meditation – really enjoyed reading it as always! 🙂
For those who keep saying they don’t have the time to meditate, well that’s like any other commitment – if it’s important to you then you will FIND the time to do it, no matter what.
Also, there’s nothing wrong with chanting mantras like Hare Krishna, Aum Namah Shivay or anything else of the like on public transport. I do it all the time 🙂 I’ve even seen people on the train chanting with malas but they do it in their minds so that it doesn’t disrupt the carriage.
Chanting is a form of meditation as it requires stillness and concentration of the mind so it’s all good!

Interesting choice of picture Mr Sodha! Very attention grabbing!
I agree though, meditation is good for the mind, and can be done in a variety of different ways. I prefer to meditate using a CD that promotes being more mindful, which I put on before going to bed. Even if you go to sleep while it is on, it is playing in your subconscious and therefore still effective.
I’m so glad you approve of my choice of imagery! 😉
CD’s are wonderful, having a mellow commentary or just some nice chillout music always helps to bring about the right frame of mind for Meditation.
Thanks so much for the comment! 🙂 x
